  • Honald Building Apartments

Travis Dillard, a Gorge native, and his wife, Jen Dillard, purchased the Honald Building in September of 2016 with the intention of converting the second floor into nine high-end, loft-style apartments.

Take a walk downtown. You’ll see new breweries, coffee shops, restaurants, and other businesses popping up and thriving. The historic downtown charm, coupled with abundant outdoor amenities, makes The Dalles an exciting place to live, work, and invest. I believe higher-end downtown housing is crucial to the City and its next phase of progress.- Travis Dillard

Downtown Programs

The parklets are important because they help to create those community gathering spaces.  You can notice the difference in the downtown when the parklets are up in front of Zim’s Brau Haus, Route 30 Bottles and Brews, and Gorge Community Music.

The traffic on 2nd st. slows down a little more allowing drivers to take in what is around them, which could very well be a business or restaurant they had not previously noticed.
The parklets tell our visitors that they are welcome in our downtown and that we hope they return to stop, have a seat, and enjoy our warm weather.

Each year The Dalles Main Street assembles an 8ft by 20ft foot parklet that is designed to encourage pedestrian activity, improve the downtown streetscape, calm traffic, and stimulate local businesses. Parklets are installed by The Dalles Main Street at no cost to the applying business. The parklets will be installed in May and removed in November for winter storage. You must apply each year for the parklet.
