Storefront Improvement Grants

The Dalles Main Street has been instrumental in helping many Downtown businesses obtain grants to renovate their facades.  This not only helps beautify our Downtown, but in many cases also helps preserve our historical buildings.  Projects include:

Beyond facade improvements, The Dalles Main Street also lends its grantwriting expertise to historic building renovations including the Hebring House and the Honald Building Apartments.  Our work to support the entrepreneurial development efforts at both locations are just two examples of the perfect combination of economic development and historic preservation that The Dalles Main Street can offer.

Streetscape and Wayfinding

To make the Downtown a multi-modal hub that people want to hang out in, The Dalles Main Street has been involved in a variety of streetscape and wayfinding projects that support all visitors.  This includes downtown bike rack installations, the parklet program, and shopping masks installed in kiosks.

We also work seasonally to put up holiday lights, and support businesses with window display.
